Scope of application – Properties

The weld metal of the basic electrode E-CORTEN consists of a NiCu alloy steel, which is very suitable for welding weather-resistant steels, such as Cor-ten and Patinax. The weld metal has a good color match with Cor-Ten steel.

Corten steel, also known as weather-resistant steel or under the brand name COR-TEN steel, is a metal alloy consisting of iron with the additions: copper, phosphorus, silicon and nickel. The appearance shows the typical brown rust color.

The rust-colored and very dense oxide layer shields the deeper material from oxygen, which greatly slows down oxidation. Operating temperature -30 o C to 450 oC

Application examples
