Description | The atex (atmosphere explosive) valve is a vacuum valve that is used when working in closed spaces. The 3/8"l valve is mounted on the outlet of a standard acetylene or propane valve. With a properly functioning injector burner, the gas is sucked in by the oxygen. The vacuum created in the gas hose ensures that the Atex valve is opened and gas passes. As soon as there is a leak in the gas hose, there is no longer enough vacuum to open the atex valve and the valve does not allow gas to pass through. The capacity at 1.5 bar pre-pressure and 180 mbar vacuum is 10.2 m3/hour |

Remark | An atex valve is not suitable for cutting thick material with acetylene and for working with a nozzle-mix burner. Use an OM stop for these conditions. An OM stop is more expensive and not user-friendly and therefore less suitable than an atex valve. NB. Also secure the oxygen tubing. Oxygen is an odorless gas, so a leak is not easily noticed. The danger of oxygen is underestimated by many people. Make sure that the gas and oxygen cylinders with the reducing valves are placed outside the closed space. |
